Dr. Andrew Cortes was born in New York, New York and is a graduate of
Cornell University. He obtained his medical degree at SUNY Downstate
Medical center in Brooklyn, NY. He completed a residency in Diagnostic
Radiology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. He pursued fellowship
training in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the University of North
Carolina Hospitals – Chapel Hill.
Dr. Cortes is Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology as well as Vascular and
Interventional Radiology.
Dr. Cortes has vast experience in venous interventions such as: endovenous
laser therapy, varithena, phlebectomy, and sclerotherapy. Additionally, he
has experience in the full gamut of Vascular and Interventional Radiology.
His interests range from embolization procedures such as uterine fibroid
embolization and prostate artery embolization to venous and arterial
interventions such as angioplasty, atherectomy, and stenting.
He is an avid sports enthusiast and also enjoys traveling and experiencing
new cultures and traditions.

Currently, Mark Medical Care provides services in four offices, two located in Long Island: Deer Park and Freeport, and twon in Queens County: Woodside and Ridgewood. Most of New York State’s health and community health insurance plans can cover varicose vein treatments.
