Eliminating unwanted hair is possible with Laser Hair Removal treatment. Laser hair removal technology penetrates the hair follicle (where the hair grows) destroying it from the root without damaging the skin. This technique works from the thickest to the thinnest hair. The results are visible after the first session. As the treatment progresses, the hair will become thinner, slowing its growth until it is eliminated. The benefits will also be noticed on the skin, which becomes softer and silkier, with a lightening effect when the treatment is performed on the underarm and bikini areas.

How does Laser Hair Removal work?

It is essential to avoid direct exposure to the sun during the 15 days before treatment to prevent possible risks. The laser equipment produces a beam of light which comes into contact with the hair melanin and is transformed into heat to burn the hair from the root. For this reason, the laser only works on dark hair. It is important to note that laser hair removal does not work on gray, blond, or reddish hair. Usually, during the first 30 days of treatment, some strands of thin hair grow back. These are dead hairs expelled by the follicle which will fall off due to its weakness.

What are the benefits of this treatment?

The laser used in hair removal is a safe technology because it provides the exact wavelength and intensity to destroy the hair without affecting the skin tissues. The results achieved with this treatment are almost definitive, with up to nearly 95% effectiveness to stop hair growth. It also improves the appearance of the skin and helps fight skin problems such as Folliculitis (due to ingrown hairs) and Hirsutism (excessive hair growth).

In most cases, definitive results are obtained; however, hormonal changes and the intake of some vitamin supplements can increase hair production.

The general recommendation is to complete a treatment of 8 sessions. However, each patient is different, so we recommend a consultation visit to evaluate each particular case.
The duration of each session depends on the size of the area to be treated.
Use sunscreen with at least 50 SPF on treated areas that are exposed to the sun. Wait 15 days before and after each session to tan. Avoid the use of wax and tweezers to remove hair between sessions, its use may affect the effectiveness of laser treatment.
