General & Insurance
Do you accept medical insurance for vein and fibroid treatments?
Yes, most of our vein and fibroid treatments are considered medically necessary and are covered by major insurance plans, including Medicare and many commercial providers. Our team will handle the verification process for you to ensure you understand your coverage before starting any treatment.
Do I need a referral from my primary doctor to see Dr. Mark?
In most cases, you do not need a referral to schedule an appointment with us. However, some specific HMO insurance plans may require one. We recommend calling our office, and we can help you determine if a referral is needed based on your plan.
Is the initial consultation free?
The initial consultation is a comprehensive medical evaluation aimed at providing an accurate diagnosis. As a specialized medical service, it is billed to your insurance provider. Standard co-pays or deductibles may apply depending on your specific plan.
Vein Treatments (Varicose & Spider Veins)
Are the vein treatments painful?
Our procedures are minimally invasive and designed to be as comfortable as possible. Most treatments are performed under local anesthesia, meaning you are awake but will feel little to no discomfort. Most patients describe the sensation as a small pinch or slight pressure.
How long is the recovery time? Can I return to work?
One of the biggest benefits of our modern treatments is minimal downtime. Most patients walk out of the clinic immediately after the procedure and can return to work and normal daily activities the same day or the next. We only advise avoiding strenuous exercise for a few days.
Are varicose veins just a cosmetic issue?
Not always. While spider veins are often cosmetic, bulging varicose veins are usually a sign of Venous Insufficiency, a medical condition where blood doesn’t flow up properly. Treating them is essential not just for appearance, but to prevent pain, swelling, and more serious complications like ulcers or clots.
Will my varicose veins come back after treatment?
The veins we treat are permanently closed or removed. However, because venous insufficiency can be a chronic condition, new veins may develop over time in other areas. We recommend periodic check-ups and a healthy lifestyle to maintain your results.
